I have a small kid and I’m always looking for new stimulating adventures for him because every kid needs it. Or at least that is what I think. When I traveled to Lanquin, Guatemala a few years back, I didn’t know anything about the famous Grutas de Lanquin (Lanquin Caves) until a fellow backpacker suggested we go to explore them! Since backpackers are notoriously known for going where few have gone before and even more for taking their time getting there, we luckily arrived to the cave around 5 pm. I say ‘Luckily’ because if we actually got our acts together and arrived at noon, like we originally planned, I would have missed an extraordinary event!

Tapirs are one of the biggest animals you may witness in Corcovado National Park. Since they are quite big in size, many of us may think that they are somewhat non-vegetarians. The Baird’s Tapir is named after the American naturalist Spencer Fullerton Baird who traveled to Mexico in 1843 to observe the animals. This species of tapir can be found from Veracruz, Mexico down to Ecuador. Corcovado National Park is one of the proud places to hold this rare species of Latin Tapirs.

Jet skis are fast, huge, fun (not to mention the cool factor) and another great way to see the beautiful coasts of Costa Rica.

Throughout time animal research has taken on many roles and has undergone many changes. As late as the 80s many internationally known cosmetic giants were still using animals to test their products on before being released for human use.

Of all the domesticated animals in the world, the most versatile of them all has to be the Dog; Dog’s feature in all walks of life, we’ve all heard of guard dogs and hunting dogs, racing dogs and guide dogs for the blind, and of course the good old fashioned mans best friend, everywhere you look you will find a dogs role in society.
